| BRAZILIAN MODEL 1908 LONG RIFLE | |
| These South American contract rifles were produced from 1908 to 1914 for Brazil. They were manufactured in Germany by DWM, the receiver stamped "Berlin" with some contracted out to Mauser, receiver stamped "Oberndorf". Similar to the German GEW98, they are a large ring 98 Mauser having a 29" barrel, pistol gripped stock with stock disk, and tangent rear sight. The receivers rings are stamped with the Brazilian crest. Most of blue finish is turning to a brown patina. Metal may be caked with dried cosmoline and or some very minor surface rust. This can be removed by gentle rubbing with oil and 0000 steel wool. Pitting/corrosion may be under wood, but not deep enough to hurt the metals integrity. Buttplates may have rust/pitting. Sorry, they don't come with quick detach rear sling swivels or cleaning rods. Matching numbers only where noted. | |
